A lot of teen girls are mad about the Russian singer Zhanna Friske. So we call her The Icon singer!
She was born in Moscow on July 8, 1974. Since childhood Zhanna studied ballet, sport dance, acrobatics and rhythmic gymnastics. In 1996, she began her career as a soloist in the popular music group "Brilliant." In 2003 she participated in the reality show "Survivor-4" and even reached the finals. On October 4, 2005 Zhanna released her debut solo album "Joan."

We think Zhanna attracts her fans not only with her nice voice but also because she looks perfect. So she sets an example for young girls and they do their best to imitate Zhanna.

Díma Bilán is another Russian very famous pop singer. He can also be considered as an Icon.
 Bilan represented Russia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2006 with "Never Let You Go", finishing second, and he won the contest in 2008 in Belgrade, with the song "Believe".
When he was two years old, his family moved to his grandmother’s place in the city of Naberezhnye Chelny in Tatarstan. When he was six years old, his family moved to Kabardino-Balkaria where he went to school with his sister. He took part in morning performances, recited poems and sang songs.
He graduated from Gnesin’s Musical College as a classical vocal performer. Bilan made his debut when he got the fourth place at the Russian/Latvian festival "New Wave" in 2002. In 2003, Bilan released his debut album “Nochnoy Huligan” (Night Hooligan). Also in 2004 he released his successful single "Na beregu neba" ("At the Sky's Shore") which was also the title of his second album.
In late 2005, Bilan released the single "New Year with a new line". Till this very day he remains extremely popular with Russian teenagers.

As for Russian singers and bands, we found out that a huge number of teens are fond of sincere songs of the famous Russian singer Stas Mikhailov. He was born on April 27, 1969 in Sochi, in the family of a test pilot and a nurse. After graduating from high school, he entered the Minsk School of Civil Aviation but studied there for only 7 months. Next was a study in the Tambov Institute of Culture. In 1992 Stas Mikhailov began to conquer Moscow and wrote the song "Candle." In 2009, Stas Mikhailov was awarded with the title of "Artist of the Year" according to Radio Shanson. For the first time he received the Golden Gramophone for the song "Between heaven and earth” in 2009. Stas Mikhailov in an Honored Artist of Russia. He also wrote the song "Without You", "You", "All for You", "Hero of Russia"

To tell the truth, we found the task quite challenging. The matter is most teens of our town turned out to like both Russian and foreign music very much. As for the most popular foreign performers, they are: Rihanna, Triangle Sun, Florence and the Machine, Madonna, Oasis etc. We did some research and found out that teens abroad are fond of the same singers and bands. Rihanna is a Barbadian-born American recording artist and actress. Rihanna's debut studio album, Music of the Sun (2005), peaked at number ten on the Billboard 200 and features the Billboard Hot 100 top five hit single "Pon de Replay". She has achieved a total of twelve number one singles on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, becoming the youngest solo artist to achieve the feat. Billboard named Rihanna the Digital Songs Artist of the 2000s decade, and ranked her as the seventeenth overall artist of the same decade. In 2012, Forbes ranked her as the fourth most powerful celebrity of 2012 with earnings of $53 million between May 2011 and May 2012.The same year, American magazine Time named Rihanna one of the most influential people in the world.
